Capstones
These gems are a mix of hardwood, paint, suspended objects, resin, and lots of elbow grease. What type of facets do you fancy for your collection?
Using the lathe or the CNC rotary module, I can turn a custom capstone out of a variety of materials or combinations. From exotic hardwoods to veneer-wrapped metal tubing to resin and beyond... just drop me a line and let's turn your game up a notch!
Kilvin's Lamps Capstones ($100-150/pair (singles available also))
These light-up capstones are my adaptation of Kilvin's Everburning Lamps from The Kingkiller Chronicle (the series where Tak originates). An amalgamation of copper, glass, and wire give these a fantasy/steampunk vibe, perfect for shelf and board. Which lamps will light up your future game nights?
Starting with a block of rock and freeing the creature inside is a wonderful experience. I will attempt to make whatever you wish, but be aware that the stone composition will direct the final appearance. Care to tell me what creatures I can create for you?
Made in the same mold as the US Tak Association tournament capstones, I can customize the resin to your liking. My favorites so far are Venus and Neptune and the Steampunk Gears, pictured in the slideshow. Maybe the ones I create for you will change my mind!
Boards
Some wordplay with my online handle (rabbitboy84), these boards are a great place to start your Tak upgrades. Made to work with the pieces that came in your commercial Tak set, the grid on this solid board is CNC cut and filled with colored resin of your choosing. I can also add further custom embellishments like 2-3 coats of clear resin on top for a glass-like appearance, laser engravings, metal inlay, etc.
Wooden Pieces
If you would like pieces to add to your board, my basic pricing structure for a 6x6 game size is as follows:
$100 labor plus the price of lumber. This includes two simple, turned capstones.
Lumber prices vary based on species and availability, but in general if it is a readily available hardwood like walnut or maple, expect to pay $20-30 for the lumber. For a lot of the exotic hardwoods, expect $75-100 for the lumber.
This pricing structure applies to the travel-sized, square "Tavern" pieces as well as the trapezoid/cane "Classic" pieces. For more involved shapes, inlays, or finishes, reach out to me and I'll get you a quote.

Prototypes
Revealed at GenCon 2022, this desktop set features some puzzle box elements and a great theme (who doesn't like castles!?)
While still in the prototyping stages, I would be happy to continue development and get an improved version into your home.
A themed version of a board&bag set, this uses uniquely attached islands as the board, literally elevating your game play. The board/bag also functions with the classic commercial pieces.
